Located on the 6th Floor overlooking the vast lobby of the podium of JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai, the spa comprises of 3 deluxe suites with bathtubs for two, 3 double suites, 2 single suites, reception and waiting lounge and a full service beauty salon. Treatment room features include steam showers, oversized terrazzo bathtubs encased in rich timber, private change rooms and relaxation lounges. The main entry is via a state of the art escalator from the hotel’s atrium and shopping arcade. A glass wall separates the spa reception from the atrium. Myriad features of the reception can be seen through the Chinese wooden panels that double as an enchanting backdrop to the pond of yellow lights running along the front of the spa entrance. The eclectic spa design blends old and contemporary Shanghai architectural features, such as exposed wood beams, unpolished old bricks reminiscent of an old Shanghai residence, with exotic Thai and Chinese elements around a Zen like setting. Chinese artworks complement the spa menu’s fusion of cultural influences.
